The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) ​​has published a report on the privacy and security of the COVIDSafe app in Australia for the first six months. The report is far from being successful and only a few unique cases have been found.

The types of queries include the legal basis of the application, the number of downloads of the application, whether the application may be a condition for entering the workplace, whether the education organization can force students to download the application, and whether the sports organization may force members to use the application.
OAIC also initiated four assessments concerning the access control used on the data storage area, application functions for privacy policies and notifications collected, and whether the data storage area administrator meets the requirements related to data processing, retention and deletion.
The title of data storage administrator was transferred from the Ministry of Health to the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) on May 16.
